What function does the thermostat have

Do you need to use the floor sensor to regulate the temperature
The thermostat will measure both the floor and atmospheric temperature or one or the other if it is so set. We do recommend that the thermostat and the heating system is used in combination with the floor sensor probe to provide the additional functions of setting a maximum floor temperature or simply measuring the floor temperature only.
Where is the thermostat best positioned
About 1.5m above the floor height and away form all heating sources and sunlight.
