The spacing between the lengths of underfloor heating cable dictates the wattage per square metre you generate.
Any combination of cables can be used to provide the required 90-95% coverage in the area for underfloor heating. Several underfloor heating cables can easily be installed in paralell in to the rear of the thermostat or via an electrical junction box (up to a total of 3,600 watts).
When used beneath a tiled floor, the tiles may be laid directly on top of the heating cable, however the entire cable must be encased in the flexible tile adhesive.
When used beneath any floor finish other than tiles (wood, laminate, vinyl, linoleum or carpet) the heating cable must be encased in 10mm of a flexible self leveling compound before the floor finish can be laid.
If laying the underfloor heating cable at 200watts/m2 and your area is larger than 11m2 you will need to use an additional heating cable to supplement the heating cable kit.
When combinations of heating cables are used they must all be laid at the same wattage/m2.
